The Heralds are delighted to present this one day Preaching Workshop for Pastors and Leaders on:

  • Style & Imagination
  • The use of illustrations in Biblical Preaching
  • 1st & 3rd Person Narrative Preaching
The Workshop will be led by Professor Winfred Neely from Moody Bible Institute.
Friday 19th June 2015 from 10am to 3pm at The Faith Mission Centre, 2 Drum Street, Edinburgh, EH17 8QG.

The EDGE 2015

On Friday 12th June at 9.30am students, friends, family, lecturers and local ministers will gather with FM
staff for our fourth annual student
conference, called
‘The Edge’.

Second year students will present their dissertations
and deal with some theological and practical questions from the floor
The event takes place in The Faith Mission Centre, 548 Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh, EH17 7JD.

There are three staff vacancies to be filled during the summer. The Application Form is available here.

1. Bible College Registrar

This is a senior leadership appointment and the Bible College Registrar will handle all the operational aspects of the Bible College, such as student recruitment, educational and legal compliance, course scheduling.
The College Registrar will manage the outworking of the Bible College’s ethos and mission delivered by the operations team and in all operational areas. The Registrar will ensure that financial reporting and the delivery of services is efficient and meets the very highest standards demanded of a Christian Bible College.
They will work very closely with the Principal and Vice Principal to support the operational aspects of the curriculum and to enhance the student experience.

2. House Parent /House Keeper

The House Parent/House Keeper will (working in close partnership with other College staff) take a proactive interest in maintaining the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing of all of the students residing on the campus.
The House Parent/House Keeper will ensure that the College building, common areas and guest accommodation is maintained to the very highest standards of cleanliness and maintained in a manner that is appropriate to a Christian College and UK Academic Institution.

3. Maintenance & Repair Worker

The Maintenance and Repair Worker will work in alignment with the College’s Ethos and Mission. Principally, responsible for carrying out all types of handyman works/repairs quickly and efficiently in accordance with Health and Safety legislation but also working with College Students helping to equip them with practical skills that can support their future Christian Ministry.
Based at the Faith Mission Bible College, it is anticipated that the majority of their work will be around the Gilmerton site but may be involved with other Faith Mission properties from time to time.
The role will involve preparing students for the practical aspects of their future Christian ministry in camp centres and field work, through a programme of scheduled practical work. Working in close partnership with other members of the operational team and other academic staff, they will mentor students as directed by the College Registrar.

Christianity Explored Training Day – 5th March 2015

We are having aChristianity Explored Training Dayon Thursday 5th March 2015.

Craig Dyer from Christianity Explored, Scotland, is running the training day and we are simply hosting it.
There is no charge for the training apart from that of an optional mid-day meal at£6.00.
The day will look like this.
10.00am – 11.00am Session 1
11.00am – 11.30am Coffee Break
11.30am – 12.50pm Session 2
1.00pm – 2.00pm Lunch
2.00pm – 3.00pm Session 3
3.00pm – 3.30pm Q & A Session with Craig

The inaugural Pathways Conference will launch over a weekend at the end of January 2015 at the Erskine Bridge Hotel, just 20 minutes from Glasgow.

From 7pm on Friday 30th January, to lunchtime on Sunday 1st February, there is a programme with great teaching, great seminars and lots of time for conversation over coffee and food.
