One Thousand Gifts Group Bible Study by Ann Voskamp.

Begin to find joy in what really matters.

“How do we find joy in the midst of deadlines, debt, drama, and daily duties?” New York Times bestselling author Ann Voskamp wondered. When your days are filled with the mundane, disappointment, or even darkness, how can you break the bondage of self-hatred and fear that has white-knuckle control on your life and instead embrace the everyday blessings that will immerse you in Christ’s fullness? How can you live your life with a heart overflowing with delight?

In this five-session, video-based Bible study, Ann encourages participants to take on the life-changing discipline of journaling God’s gifts – to really look at life and find the good in it. It’s only in this expressing of gratitude for the life we already have that we discover the life we’ve always wanted…a life we can take, give thanks for, and break for others. And only then can we know the impossible right down in our bones: we are wildly loved – by God.

Embark on this personal, honest, and fresh exploration of what it means to be deeply fulfilled, wholly happy, and finally fully alive.

The DVD includes five 18-20 minute video teaching sessions for Ann Voskamp from her farm in Ontario, and the study guide includes video notes, discussion questions and Bible study, between-session activities, and journaling space that will all help you to further explore the topics Ann discusses in the video teaching.

Session titles include:
1. Attitude of Gratitude
2. Grace in the Moment
3. All is Grace
4. Trust: The Bridge to Joy
5. Empty to Fill

  1. Ann, this message moves me to tears and yet quiets my soul. Thank you for sharing Eucharisteo with me. This is something I need to understand, something I need to do, to begin opening my hands in Thanksgiving and allowing the Lord to heal me – my quick temper, my frustration, my constant irritation that bubbles hot, my anxiety, my fears – and allow me to be the Mother and Wife that He has BLESSED me to be. Thank you.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing this inspiring video. A friend gave me the book, and now another friend turned me to the video…so I’m just saying YES Lord! I am so grateful and I look forward with anticipation to what is to come!

  3. Thanks so much for opening your life, I am working on my list in your journal, and this helps me so much.

  4. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Your words are beautiful, haunting, poignant, encouraging. I look forward to hearing more. I am so sorry for all you have had to endure, but your amazing attitude of gratitude and joy is truly an inspiration.

  5. I thank the LORD that you He has shown you His grace and enabled you to share with others….thank you! 🙂

  6. Don’t know quite how I got to this video, but sure glad I did. I’m now gonna be writing down all the thing that God has blessed me with, down to the smallest things… Thank you:)

  7. I grew up on a Farm in Minnesota, with nine other siblings. There is something special about the farm, where we see Life and where we often see death. It was on my families farm at the age of ten, that i suffered my first Life and Death experience, no one but the Lord was there to witness it. That Life and Death experience made me realize that there is a God, as a matter of fact it was when I cried out, JESUS SAVE ME, that I was immediately wrapped Up into HIS Presence. That was 41 years ago.

  8. Beautiful, Ann! Thank you for sharing your heart and your wounds. You speak the truth that pondering his love for us by thanking Him in and for everything is what opens us to His love for us. It is truly what pleases Him.

  9. I’m fighting too sweet Ann, from my tiny corner of the world, I’m fighting too. I’m breathing in this moment as gift and breathing out thanks because God has used you to show me how. Thank you for allowing Him to use you.

  10. Ann, I wanted to let you know how God has used your little book to open my eyes. Things have been tough, we have lost loved ones to suicide, we have a dear one suffering from PTSD, and although my faith in God never left me, I lost the ability to see anything but the sorrow, I was just holding on, clinging….I read a lot, a friend shared your little book with me, and I decided to try and count my blessings, to thank Him for the gifts He gives. It has changed my heart. I can see again.Thank you

  11. I am reading your book. I have been looking at life as FACT that God is the Real, Intimate, One reaching out to us as one who truly loves us. In Jesus we have a wonderful opportunity to see things with wide eyes. It is a choice to ask God to fix the broken furniture in our lives, in our hearts. That fixing can be as painful as the initial brokenness. The words you are sharing from God, express so well that His heart is always for us, taking us by the hand. Thank you for giving from your heart.

  12. this is really beautiful, and eloquent, and gracefull. I am a creative… who suffered from ocd for 6 yrs due to trauma. I am and have healed a lot from it, and am hoping, and praying for full full recovery. the only remedy that seems to work, is my full full focus on the Lord, and all things good true and noble. It is a discipline to reshape and renew my mind there. I was a trained actress, and I write , and love animals. I am open to God using me daily. I pray pray pray for healing.

  13. I just finished reading your book….one thousand gifts….You have the many gifts and I am convinced writing is definitely one. I was drawn into your world ..surprised by joy in the pages…beyond the physical and into your very heart. Thank you Ann without an E…..who needs an E when you can stand alone with God without one. Hugs and much love to you Ann. I pray God will enable us to meet one day!!!

  14. This goes along with the verse: “In EVERYTHING give Thanks”!  Not always easy—but it WORKS!  Thank you, Ann–for reminding us…..oxo!

  15. This is beautiful but Greek is not the original language, Jesus spoke in Hebrew. Greek was years later.

  16. Wonderful teaching….BUT please correct the CC…..the words in CC do not match what she is speaking…thus the hearing impaired and deaf will be totally confused. Thank you

  17. Thanks Ann! What a blessing to be reminded of the beautiful moments and the power of gratitude! We all need to fight for joy and thanksgiving!

  18. I can listen to Ann over and over again and she draws me closer to His Word. Thank you for using and sharing this gift God has given you.
