  1. Growing up, I was a devout Catholic, then once i became an adult and thought about the story of Jesus, I was totally buying it about doing good things for others and non-violence. Then it came to the part where he died and flew up into the sky (heaven) and I was like, people actually believe that non-sense? So of course, I began to look for any evidence that a living man can fly and of course there wasn’t any. Now I chalk it up to having been a child similarly to believing in Santa. I am well aware that your belief in God and that people who are related to entities with special power can fly and that God does exist even though there is zero evidence to prove the existence of God. I have also heard the argument that there is no proof that he does not exist which is complete asinine because then I could believe that invisible objects are flying around you right now but there is no proof of that. Basically, when there is no proof of something, it is because it is not true. When there is no proof in a court room, people are found innocent not guilty. I chalk this nonsense up to crack-pots and people with child-like mentalities who never question anything. Lastly, I have heard enough of anytime something extremely tragic like the holocaust or 911 happen it is believed that the devil did it or that God has a plan for us all which includes level of suffering far beyond that of some man that carried something heavy and was put in the hot sun for a few days. In fact, even though the suffering of Jesus within the religion is believed some horrid tragic event, it was how the Roman’s executed criminals and that many many people endured a suffering at least equal to if not greater than the suffering of Jesus. Lastly, I guarantee you that there are people alive today that have done far greater things for humanity than a few parlor tricks that people of area/time were unfamiliar. The one thing I do know today is that there are people are extremely nice and caring that have suffered to a far greater extent but are not associated with people flying around in the clouds. I was a believer until all the stuff that is far-fetched and there exists no proof whatsoever. There is a sucker every minute and honestly if i could get you to give me free money without breaking the law by selling you something outlandish I would do it. Through my research I did find out that people once paid priests for vouchers that stated their sins had been forgiven and it becomes an obvious money making scam to sell books and get free money. But hey, its right to believe whatever you like and if you dont mind getting taken in the process, and as long as it’s legal, who am I to judge.

  2. How can it be believed that an all loving, merciful, universe creator-god sends people to hell where they’ll be tortured forever because they find 3000-year old, bronze age, messianic, religious beliefs from the Middle-East, which are based on copies of copies of translations of copies by anonymous authors and whose dictates were the results of back-room dealings and include miracles to be nonsense? Maybe god will judge me for exercising the brain he gave me and not being gullible, and reward me for not believing ridiculous nonsensical trash. No intelligent, wise, supernatural being would try to communicate through a book when other competing books are known to be available which all claim the same divine ultimate unsubstantiated truth, when all of these books are written by men, and are translated from other languages over long periods of time and are filled with immorality, errors and contradictions. Why would a god reward people for being idiots?

  3. This brings tears to my eyes. Realizing the multiple different ways that God has been pushing me to help others grow. My pivotal experience that helped me grow in faith was the understanding and fear of the evil and wickedness in this world. I wanted to learn more and more and I had no where to turn except to the Lord for my comfort. And blessed is his name for he has set me free. And never ceases to bring joy and happiness to my heart in times of distress. ?

  5. The Baptist church teaches that it is NOT necessary to be obedient to Jesus and His teachings to go to Heaven or to even try. It is true that they present lessons on obedience but only that you may have blessings in your life and you will receive more rewards when you get to Heaven.

This is a critically serious misrepresentation of the doctrine of Christ.and there can be no other choice but to label this as a demonic teaching which has deceived many..

Also, they misinterpret and misrepresent the scripture in Ephesians 2:9 making reference to works. The works in this scripture is making reference to works of the old law / covenant and not works involved in serving Jesus. Paul was addressing new Christians converted from Judaism to Christianity. You may find this subject covered in similar ways in Colossians and Galatians which are sister books penned by the Apostle Paul.

Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them

Both grace and faith leads to obedience to Jesus Christ and his teachings which in turn leads to salvation God’s grace reaching down to clasp hands with our faith reaching up. Faith which does not lead to obedience to Jesus and his teachings is not biblical faith. James 2: 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[d]?

THE WORD OBEY OR OBEDIENCE IS SHOWN APPROXIMATELY 80 TIMES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. BELOW ARE JUST A FEW SCRIPTURES PERTAINING TO THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING OBEDIENT TO JESUS AND HIS TEACHINGS. REMEMBER THAT THE APOSTLE PAUL SPOKE FOR JESUS ALSO, I COR 14:37. John 14:23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

John 12:48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. 49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

I John 5:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Heb 5:8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him I John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Matt 7:21 Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father which is in heaven. 2 John 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work. This lesson has been put together in a spirit of love and concern. Galatians 1: 10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
